will power

What is will?

Is it moral fortitude, or maybe it is a mirage, created for us to feel hope?

And if this is so how de we explain those who have achieved so much through their own initiative? Was it hope?

Is it work ethic? Does will mean an undying pursuit to a goal? Or is it simply letting go of the goal and giving in to the pursuit alone?
